Convofold Privacy Policy

This policy covers the browser extension VNCNT Convofold: AI Chat Folders, Prompt Library & Export for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Convofold adds folders, tags, search, a prompt library, export and a Privacy Shield to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok. Everything Convofold stores stays in your browser on your computer. VNCNT Labs never receives your chats, prompts, folders or anything else you do with the extension, and version 1.0 makes no network requests of its own.
1. Where it runs and what it reads
- Convofold runs only on chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com and grok.com. It does not run on any other website.
- On those sites it reads the conversation that is open in the tab (your messages and the assistant's replies, the chat's title and address) so it can file the chat in your library, make it searchable and export it. You can pause this for any of the four sites, or turn it off, in Settings.
- It reads the text in the site's prompt box when you send a message, only to run the Privacy Shield check described below, and it writes into the prompt box when you insert a saved prompt or choose to mask details.
- It checks each page's layout when it loads (which parts of the page it can find). Only the result (for example “Claude: layout OK”) is kept, never page content.
- Convofold doesn't read your browsing history, cookies, passwords, account details or anything on other sites.
2. Privacy Shield
When you send a prompt on one of the four sites, Convofold checks it, on your computer, for email addresses, API keys and tokens, payment card numbers and (if you turn it on) phone numbers. If it finds any, it holds the message and lets you mask them, send as is, or go back and edit. With Pro auto-redact it masks them and sends without asking. The detected values are never stored, logged or sent anywhere by Convofold: the dialog only shows shortened previews such as “j•••@e•••.com”. The check helps but can't guarantee it catches everything; please still review what you send.
3. Stored on your device only
- Your library: the list of chats you've opened with Convofold installed (site, title, address, dates, number of messages), your folders, tags, pins and custom titles.
- Chat transcripts: the text of those chats, kept in the extension's own storage (IndexedDB) so you can search and export them, until you remove the chat, delete all indexed chats in Settings or uninstall.
- Prompts and settings: your prompt library and preferences.
All of this lives in the extension's local storage in this browser profile, is not synced and is never sent to VNCNT Labs. Uninstalling the extension removes all of it. Settings → “Delete all indexed chats” removes your library and transcripts at any time (prompts can be deleted in the Prompts section), and “Download backup” saves a copy as a file only when you ask.
4. Exports
Markdown, text, PDF and ZIP exports and backups are created on your computer and saved through your browser's normal download, or copied to your clipboard when you click Copy. Where those files go afterwards is up to you.
5. The chat services themselves
Convofold doesn't change what you send to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok, except to replace details you chose to mask. Those services handle your conversations under their own privacy policies. Convofold makes no requests to them of its own.
6. Pro (not yet available)
Version 1.0 is free only and makes no network requests. When Pro launches it will be sold through Lemon Squeezy. Activating it will send your license key and an instance name to Lemon Squeezy, and Convofold will re-check the key with Lemon Squeezy from time to time. No chat content, prompts or library data is ever sent. We will update this policy before that version is released.
7. Data sharing and selling
We do not collect, sell or transfer user data. We do not use any data for advertising, creditworthiness or lending, or for anything unrelated to organizing your AI chats.
8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from browser extension APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
9. Children
The extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Security
The extension uses only the “storage” permission and access to chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com and grok.com. It runs no remote code: all scripts and fonts are packaged. Its pages use a strict content security policy that allows no connections to other servers in version 1.0.

Convofold is an independent product of VNCNT Labs and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or xAI. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI; Claude is a trademark of Anthropic; Gemini is a trademark of Google LLC; Grok is a trademark of xAI. Chrome is a trademark of Google LLC; Microsoft and Edge are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. They are mentioned only to describe compatibility.
12. Changes
If we change what the extension handles, we will update this page and the effective date before releasing that version.
